The Friends of the Banks-Dolbeer Historic Home invited you to a viewing rarely displayed of Dr. Sarah Gertrude Banks (June 11, 1839- Jan 10, 1926).


Dr. Banks grew up in Walled Lake and became a renowned physician, teacher and suffragette.  View her diary, her physician’s bag, her family tree dating back to Myles Standish of the Mayflower and much more.  She was a woman of admirable courage and outstanding achievements in her own time.  Dr. Banks was a heroine of noble character worthy of recognition for young people today.


Watch the video as the community came together to save her childhood farmhouse from demolition.  Learn of the long and arduous journey of restoring her home to its former glory.


Her story will be displayed at the Walled Lake City Library located at 1499 E. West Maple, Walled Lake
